Student ID & Cafeteria Automated Payment System

 

Each student receives a student ID with in the first month at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School, and is required to carry this ID on his person at all times. The student ID may be used for outside events and discounts. It is also required for some school events such as athletic games and school wide elections.

The school ID should be used for any purchase in the cafeteria (including cash purchases)  to protect student accounts and to decrease wait time in lunch lines. CAFETERIA AUTOMATED PAYMENT SYSTEM INFORMATION

BMCHS is using an automated cafeteria payment system (through Food Service Systems, Inc.). Features of this lunch payment system provide advantages to both students AND parents to ensure easy access, ease of payment, and good eating habits.

  • Every student is given a free ID card (name, picture, grade, ID#);
  • At checkout for food purchases: student presents ID to machine reader. Food item information is input by cafeteria staff; payment is via charge to prepaid account (if parent has set up account and paid), cash, or check (only if parent has set up account).
  • An account balance (for future purchases) for the student is available, if needed. If account balance is low and needs to be replenished, student will be advised at that time so parents can be informed, or automatic scheduled draft can be set up to prevent this.
  • Lost card replacement: $3.00 payable to BMCHS.
  • Account balances at end of a school year: seniors = refunded to parents; others = carried forward into next school year.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

  • Parents can access bank checking to prepay: only $1.50 charge per deposit regardless of deposit size. (set up through individual banking after account is set up through www.myschoolaccount.com).
  • Students can pay for meals via cash or check (when set up through www.myschoolaccount.com) at point of sale in the cafeteria.
  • Parents can prepay online via credit card into their individual account (when set up through www.myschoolaccount.com); 6% charge per deposit.


HOW DO I ACCESS THE ONLINE PAYMENT OPTION?

1) Go to www.myschoolaccount.com. Student ID# is required to add your student.  The ID number is given at the time the student photo is taken.
2) Create an account (a student can only be assigned to one parent account at a time).
3) Add student to your account.
4) You can then:

  • view meals your student has eaten
  • make payments with your credit card
  • make payments with your checking/savings account via ACH
  • set up account for check payments at point of sale
  • modify your personal information
  • view online payment history.

5) Money (as well as purchase history) is available to student account the morning following a payment.
6) Your email address MUST be valid.


CHECK PAYMENTS

  1. Checks can only be used if parent has previously set up account through www.myschoolaccount.com.
  2. All checks should be made payable to: GLADYS CATERING, INC. (can be given to cashier in cafeteria checkout or mailed to: BMCHS, Attn: Cafeteria Services).
  3. Any returned checks due to NSF: $25 charge to student’s account.
