The Drama program at Bishop McGuinness provides an opportunity to share your talents with the Bishop family and the community. We encourage all kinds of involvement: from acting, singing and dancing to the vital work of set construction, costume design, and lighting and sound work.

Three shows a year highlight our efforts: our fall play (e.g., “Up the Down Staircase”), a “mini-musical” such as “Annie Jr.” for pre-school and elementary students, and our spring musical, the biggest effort of the year (e.g., Disney’s Beauty and the Beast”). The usual production dates are in November and early December for the fall plays, and March for the spring musical.

If you are not interested in performing but still want to be a part of a strong drama program, you can become involved with the “tech crew.” Under the supervision of some of our talented parents you will learn and implement various behind-the-scenes elements vital to excellent productions.

One important outcome of our drama programs is teaching students the value of working with others to achieve many goals – so there is a “part” just waiting for you when you join us.
